Student Grants

ESRI and AGILE sponsor grants for students to attend the AGILE 2025 conference, covering a reduced registration fee (270 €), as well as a fixed contribution to the travel costs (230 €), corresponding to a value of 500 € in total. Eligible for application is everyone who:

1. significantly contributes to the conference
2. is doing research relevant for geographic information science (GISience) and the AGILE community
3. demonstrates a financial burden preventing participation

• Full name (surname in UPPER CASE);
• Institution full address;
• Full personal contact details including email address and phone number;
• Gender (male/female/other/not disclosed);
• Professional status (PhD-student, MSc-student, etc.);
• Detailed justification regarding the three eligibility criteria:
  1. Your contribution (presentation of poster, paper, or workshop moderation)
  2. Shortly explain why your research is relevant for GIScience and the community, and why AGILE participation is critical to the development of your research
  3. Detail your conference costs (including travel and stay), and explain your inability to get other kinds of funding for covering those costs. You can e.g. put the travel costs in relation to your income and the available travel budget.

The deadline to apply for grants is 28 March 2025. Results of the selection process will be communicated by email on the 10 April 2025.
