ESRI and AGILE are offering grants for students to attend the AGILE 2026 conference, covering the student registration fee (200 €), as well as a fixed contribution to the travel costs (300 €), corresponding to a value of 500 € in total.
Eligibility criteria for applicants include:
- A significant contribution to the conference.
- Engagement in research relevant to Geographic Information Science (GIScience) and the AGILE community.
- Demonstration of financial hardship that would prevent participation.

- Professional status (PhD student, MSc student, etc.).
- A detailed justification addressing the three eligibility criteria:
a. Your contribution (indicate if you are the presenter of a poster, paper, or workshop moderator and specify your role if you are a co-author). Please note that we can only support one individual per paper or poster, and that this person must be presenting. Therefore, please coordinate with your co-authors to decide who will apply.
b. A brief explanation of why your research is relevant to GIScience and the AGILE community, and why attending AGILE conference is critical for your research development.
c. A breakdown of your estimated conference costs (including travel and accommodation) and an explanation of your inability to secure alternative funding for these expenses. For example, you may relate your travel costs to your income and available travel budget.
The deadline to apply for grants is 25 March 2026. Results of the selection process will be communicated by email latest on the 6 April 2026.
