The Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe (AGILE) is a leading European network dedicated to advancing research, education, and collaboration in Geographic Information Science (GIScience). Since 1998, AGILE has hosted annual conferences that bring together researchers, practitioners, and students to exchange knowledge and explore emerging developments in GIScience.
The International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), founded in 2004, promotes the development and application of Digital Earth through international research collaboration and academic exchange. In 2023, ISDE established the Young Scientist Innovation Network and launched the Youth Innovation Forum (YIF) on Digital Earth to strengthen the engagement and collaboration of young researchers and innovators. Since then, YIF has been held annually as an international forum for young scientists to exchange ideas, present research, and build collaborations in Digital Earth.
The AGILE 2027 Conference will be held jointly with the 5th Youth Innovation Forum (YIF) on Digital Earth in Lund, Sweden, from 21–24 June 2027.
Under the theme “Geospatial Intelligence and Digital Earth for a Sustainable Future”, the joint AGILE 2027 – YIF 2027 Conference highlights the transformative role of GIScience, spatial intelligence, and Digital Earth technologies in addressing complex societal and environmental challenges. The conference will foster interdisciplinary research, technological innovation, and collaboration across generations, bringing together established experts and emerging researchers to advance solutions for a more sustainable and resilient future.
