The public sector challenges towards a citizen-centric SDIRob van de Velde
Mr. Rob van de Velde is Director of Geonovum, The Netherlands Executive Spatial Data Infrastructure Committee, since april 2007. Making the government work smarter when it comes to location has been the common thread in his work in the public sector. After studying social geography in 1985 he got involved with the introduction of geographic information systems at the Ministry of Housing, Physical Planning and Enviroment. Then he got job at the National Institute Public health and Environment. Previous to his present position he was head of the GIS Competence Center at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food quality.
